A few weeks back I was part of the team that completed a new MLS (Major League Soccer) website for adidas.

I personally stopped following the MLS after the 1999 season as the DC United took a huge nose dive. While in DC it was exciting to watch the games and there was something about the freshness of soccer in the US. The fans were great. I can't stand football, basketball or baseball...but soccer I can stomach.

Once In A Lifetime looks to cash in on some of the World Cup hype this summer and highlight a time when US soccer was actually a big deal. Could be a great film.

-I've read a few of the 33 1/3 series and just finished The Beastie Boys' Paul's Boutique by Dan Leroy. If you're at all a fan of the record I highly recommend picking up the book. It outlines the entire backstory of the making the record and beyond. Why the Beastie Boys left Def Jam, the story and origin of the Dust Brothers and a bunch more about the forgotten years of the band. I bought Paul's Boutique the day it came out on both CD and cassette as I couldn't afford a portable CD player. I also remember buying the 'Hey Ladies' single at the Springfield mall following a Bones Brigade demo. Still one of my favorite records...it never gets old.

- I'm not sure how I missed this Good Clean Fun video. Pretty perfect.

- I just picked up a track bike. I'm not completely set on having the fixed gear. I'm thinking on changing over to a freewheel and a front brake. We'll see

- These K-Tel commericals are great. I had the breakdance poster from this ad hanging on my wall for way too long.

- It was a lot easier to work on this thing when I didn't have a house and a yard. That and all the time I spend online during the week...it gets to me. And trimming takes a lot out of a guy.

- Art School Confedential could have been much better. I really enjoyed and related to some aspects of the film but the murder mystery part of the plot wasn't very nessisary. Still, if you happened to attend art school as I did the school related scenes were DEAD ON.

- It's crazy that Von Dutch's original tool box went for over a quarter million dollars at auction. This commentary is pretty much on point.

- Very nice weekend here in Portland. 30 mile bike ride, lawn work and BBQ. Nice. Looking forward to driving the motorcycle to work all week.

- Through the advice of one Mr. Hanley I've signed on to La La. It's basically a service that lets you list CDs you want to get rid of and then list CDs you want. You then get sent envelopes ala Netflix and send out your CDs to other users per request, then get one sent to you. Very cool idea. The flaw? Sending insert artwork is optional. Why the fuck would I want a CD with no artwork? If I wanted that I could get it on iTunes. The idea is to get musicyou want to hang on to for a while, so to me the artwork is important. It's a great idea, so maybe that aspect will change soon. So far I've sent three CDs and recieved one. I've got 28 requests in. I guess there aren't too many people with a copy of Harmony Coruption by Napalm Death they want to part with.

I’ve been spending way too much time visiting chopper websites. Although I’ve always felt more comfortable riding a café racer, I’m so into the look and style of these bikes. These bikes just ooze old school toughness much like old rat rods and custom roadsters.

Even if I could my hands on a flat black low slung knucklehead chopper I just don’t know if I could look the part. I’m not good comfortable with blasting down the highway in a tiny helmet and short sleeve shirt. I’m just not core enough I guess

- Saw TV On The Radio on Thursday night at the Doug Fir. I enjoyed their old songs but wasn't blown away as most people I know are. Talented guys it just wasn't as impressive as I thought it would be. I think I liked the show location better than the band. Hopefully more bands I enjoy will play there (oh wait, Tommy plays in just 10 days).

. I just picked up a nice Pac Man cocktail table from Craigslist. All original from 1980 and in damn fine condition. Amazed he didn't stick it up on Ebay.

- Lately the only interesting links I've come across have been posted at The Future Magazine blog. This magazine is the idea of Dave Carnie the writer behind Big Brother. There are some great stories posted included Dave's visit to Morrissey's house in LA while it was on the market for sale. Great.

- Forever ago I pointed out the Kid America site. Well todat I stumbled across their new site and it kills. I'm still a big fan of Third Base, but the Lil' Hipsters are super funny. Check out their aNYthing commerical. And when do the damn DVDs come out?

- Sketches Of Frank Gehry certainly looks interesting. I'm not sure I even like his work, but it's certainly interesting stuff. Nothing wrong with a little variety in the world.

- I'm already starting to think about this years California Melee. Drving from Portland to SF, then the 700 mile rally, then back to Portland is a challenge. Should I buy a second car? Transport one? Tough questions. This 1972 2002 looks pretty good as does this 1979 510.Tough call on what to do.

- Kato seems to be doing better. It's strange but during the day she is fine but around 8-8:30pm the crying starts. After a few med changes she seems to be improving.

- Gumball 3000 is going on right now. They have a site up that follow is the action live. Well, sort of live. They've got some images and bunch of video.

- Finally a holiday everyone can agree on : National Day Of Slayer. 6/6/06

- Judge at the Anthrax, 1988. Damn.

- And the image...I'm watching Airplane! as I write this.
