Headphones are a life saver. I can always count on them to take me away from the rest of the world (or more specifically the office) at anytime. No matter how foolish the background chatter may be, I can turn up the Cursed and know that it's going to be OK.

I came across Rob Dobi's site and was instantly impressed. Such great work. This Avril Lavinge piece is so dead on, as is 'How To Dress Emo 2.0'.

I need to get more tattoo work. After seeing all the great images of Bob's work on his site, I'm excited to step it up. Now I'm thinking seriously about going to 3/4 on my right arm with Jef Whitehead doing the job.

Long weekends are good. Skating, motorbike riding, and general catching up. Could use another day though...

If you are at all into metal, do yourself a favor and check out the newest by Darkest Hour. It's so damn good...possibly because it was recorded at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg Sweden by legendary producer Fredrick Nordstromd, the man behind At the Gates, In Flames, Arch Enemy, Cradle of Filth, and Dimmu Borgir.

Here's an interesting site: Iraq Body Count. Oh yeah, where are those weapons of mass destruction? Everyone seems to have forgotten all about them. Check out the Post War Planner. If you get a chance watch a rerun of Iraq : A look Baq...so funny.

The No-Contact jacket is a great concept and a great piece of design. Just a fantastic idea from start to finish.

Yeah, that's the new Weird Al Yankovic album over on the left. Got a problem with that? The guy's funny, Ben Folds plays on a track...and I'm sucker for a good parody.

I'm tired and I want this week to end.

I used to enjoy the Skateboarding Sucks website. Now I just dread looking at the comments. It's really sad. I hope these are really little kids...it's a real bleak snapshot of how skaters think.

Talk about personal sacrifice for a cause...the Swedish animal rights group 'Bye Bye Egg Industry' openly destroyed 2 million dollars worth of hatchery equipment, tripped the alarm, and waited for the police. They are looking at four years in prison.

Damn.

Vic over at Static-Void loved the Matrix Reloaded. He also bought into all the Hare Krishna garbage with no problem so...

The more I think about it, the more I dislike Reloaded. I'd rather watch Bruce Lee throw one real punch than all the hours of computer generated junk. Do yourself a favor and watch Enter the Dragon again and save your money and time.

Guess what? Mesh truckers hats are awesome (says the New York Times Fashion section!)! I mean Ashton Kutcher rocks em'! What more do you need to know?

And this just in...skateboarding isn't cool anymore. Really. It's 1992 again. Now all you kids can go find something else to do..

Mr. Cutaia,

Hello. My name is Chris S. I'm a 29 year old Art Director from San Francisco.

This morning I was visiting the Martinez Skatepark with a few friends from surrounding areas (including one from Benicia who is spearheading that town's new skatepark effort). Martinez has a great park. It's very well built and maintained, with a strong design. I'm a member of the San Francisco Skatepark Coalition and think it's great the community has provided this park for the youth of Martinez.

I was surprised to see very few young people using the park this morning. When I first visited the park soon after the grand opening it was swarming with kids...and now it seemed empty. In fact, my friends and I were the only people there at 10:40am. After about forty five minutes roughly 6 kids showed up.

We skated for 20 minutes together when a patrol car rolled up.

The kids immediately ran and hid their skateboards in the garbage can. When we asked why they were hiding, the said they had received four tickets for skating without pads, and didn't want another ticket.

I was not wearing a helmet and neither was another friend of mine. I follow the state law which states adults over the age of 18 do not have to wear helmets or protective gear in public parks. As the officer approached the kids ran off. The officer then approached us and asked if we had any children presently using the park. When we said no he told us we were setting a bad example, and that we must have full pads and helmets at all times. I told him that the state law was for kids under 18, but he told me that "if I wanted to skate here" I would have to wear full pads.

He then got back in his car and continued to watch the park. My friends who had full pads continued skating. The other kids who left started to walk back. Five minutes later, he came out of his car and said that one of us wasn't wearing an elbow pad, and told us to "grow up". It was obvious he thought we were trouble, and we weren't welcome...so we left.

Now, I actually don't care that he was hassling us. I've been harassed for being a skater for 16 years. What upsets me is that young kids have been forced to fear and run from police officers rather than looking to them as someone to trust.

In a time when so many kids are going drugs, and turning toward other negative activities, it would seem that skating should be the last thing they should be looked down on for doing.

It seems that the officers need to somehow enforce the law without making the kids feel like criminals. I've been to countless skatepark meetings in San Francisco where kids feel like the enemy and learn early that the police are people to run FROM in time on need...and not TOWARD.

Thanks for your time,

I didn't really like it. Pretty big let down...the entire first hour was just awful. I don't want to post any spoilers so I'll leave it at that.

Also, I may just stop going to movie theaters all together. It seems the amount of people who think it's acceptable to talk loudly, yell at the screen , and proclaim "AWWW yeah..." during a sex scene has risen sharply lately. It's not your living room, you worthless dim-witted turds. If you crave extra attention, find it someplace else. Inconsiderate fucks.

The Matrix Reloaded is getting some interesting reviews...
"The Wachowski brothers seem to be afflicted with George Lucas Syndrome" - the Onion AV Club. That ain't good.  "Matrix Reloaded is, unlike the first film, a conventional comic-book movie, in places a campy conventional comic-book movie, and in places a ludicrously campy conventional comic-book movie." - New Yorker. Hmmm...seems like story is going to take a back seat.

The Onion does it again with this Matrix info graphic. 'Morpheus transforms into Cowboy Curtis to avoid agents'. I'm not the only one who is familar with Larry Fishburne's eariler roles.

I'm back from my brother's wedding which took place at the lovely Walters Art Museum in downtown Baltimore. It was an amazing ceremony...photos soon.

- The new (and yet to be released) From Monument To Masses album is flat out fantastic. Go download the new songs they have available now, and then go buy them all mid June. I once told Sergio that I was convinced vocals were needed to make a strong emotional and political impact. Seems I was wrong.

- This fake 'fun, silly, and goofy' office environment is worse than a stomach churning migraine. Get me the fuck outta here, I'm trapped in a real life Office Space.

- Yeah Right! is damn good...but no Video Days or even Label Kills.

- I have my Matrix ticket already. 10pm Wednesday.

Saw X2, which was pretty good. Watched three fire trucks and two cop cars pull up to the home next to mine and raise ladders and throw hoses, no fire. Wrote a bit of my Best Man's speech for my Brother's wedding next Saturday. Cursed the shitty weather for not letting me get my bike out of the garage. Forgot my lunch this morning...

Go to the top left of the page. Click on the Herbivore Magazine link. Pre-order multiple copies for your family and friends. Why? Because even though I haven't read it yet it will fucking rule. Josh is an awesome guy, veganism is the future, and my dog has a few photos in there.

It seems that Jason Lee is skating again and trying to start Stereo up once more. Read what he has to say about it all...

Work has been quite a drag lately. What gets me through the day? Metal. You can't beat Snake Net Metal Radio. I've been banging to such favorites as Raven, Aggressor, (old) Metallica, Hammerfall, Lamb of God, and Nuclear Assault. No matter what goes on outside my cube, I can take cover, throw on the headphones and 'scream bloody gore'...
