 -It's
been a long while since I've attended a show and all three bands
are talented and entertaining. This Wednesday was such an event
                with Mastodon, Priestess
                and Mouth
Of the Architect all playing great sets. Plus, there was the
added bonus of bouncers taking down some white power morons.

It's a thing of beauty to see a 300+ pound bouncer hold a skinny
redneck in a head lock and drag him through the crowd and force
him out the back door. His head looked like a tick about to pop.
The crowd cheered when the bouncers returned sans white power
goons. Four other 'Sieg Heil'ing fucks were ejected the same way
                in about 20 seconds.

It's nice to see a new music blog that has some serious potential.
                Check out Clocked
In - Punched Out Jason's new music blog that picks up where
Sonic Corpse Glide left off. Jason has partnered up with another
music fan who seems to be giving a nice variety to the mix (Idlewild?).
Looking forward to checking it daily.

 - The 720 is gone.

 - Patton Oswalt on guns
                and yoga.

 - It seems no one is interested in buying
my 720 machine. I'm moving to a slighter smaller offce and
it has to go. If you live in PDX and want it, FOR FREE, let me
know. The catch is that you need a truck to move it and it needs
a PCB board (around $100 bucks) I just want it to have a good
                home.

I've been just way too busy. I have a bunch of stuff I've wanted
to post, there is just too little time in the day and I spend
enough of it in front of a damn monitor.

 - Long weekend in Las Vegas with the family. It was a good time.
I highly recommend visiting the Neon
Musuem 'Boneyard'. Amazing history of signs. We even took
a look at the Stardust sign just a few days after the building
was imploded. Each letter was over 9 feet tall. The Richard
Petty ride along was good, but too short of a ride once in
the car. I guess I have to cough up the almost 400 bucks to actually
drive the car. Photos of both at some point.

 - I spend almost all my time in the office listening to audio
                shows from the Sound
Of Young America archive. Great comedians and writers being
asked very intelligent questions. Every show has been good.

 - And because of the above show I finally picked up John Hodgeman's
book, The Areas Of My Expertise. I can't remeber the last time
I laughed out loud while reading. Highly recommended. And yeah,
                he's the PC guy.

 - Since when has 80's BMX been cool? Let alone hipster status?
                Well, the shit is now...and
these bikes are amazing. I almost bought an old General Freestyle
last week on eBay just like
the one I rode before I broke my Dad's skateboard ban. That
was BEFORE I saw these. Now I want to tear down my track bike,
repaint it and trick it out...

                the Epicly
                Later'd Video Show, Braydon
                Szafranzski profile:

 "Just
                staying at Ali's
                house and Shane
(Cross) was there a bunch and we fuckin' went out to the bar
                to get wasted...it was fun..."

"and I've been back for seven or eight days and got this
news and it's like, how the fuck can something like this happen?
So I've been spending the last couple days in the bar all day..."

How can this happen? Because they were drunk and riding motorcycles
without helmets, you dumb fuck. Because it's super high fashion
to drink all night and 'party' and get 'wasted dude'. Now take
that shirt off and crack open a can! Bitches, Boards, Beer and
                Buds!

This is what skating is now? Kids look up to this shit? Drunk
worthless turds who get pointless, poor tattoos and get paid to
hit a handrail every once in a while? Fantastic.
I thought skating was past the Spacoli
image. I'm not looking for a world of Andy Macs, but man...bummer
                bro.

                Zach
Galifianakis interview over at the Onion AV Club. He also
                has a new
DVD out which I look forward to checking out. Great Podcast
interview here. He also appeared here in Portland on Friday
night but I never got around to getting tickets as I'm really
unsure if I'll ever attend a stand up show again. The last one
I went to was horrible as the crowd just ruins the experience.
Maybe Portland is diffrent that SF...

. I kind of can't believe I'm going to Vegas on
Friday...by choice. Still, the two things I have planned (Sign
                Graveyard, Richard Petty
drive) should be worth the trip.

 - This is one of the best car themed
videos I've ever seen online. Top
Gear brings a Bugatti Veyron up to 250 mph. I wish this show
stayed in the states a little longer. I'd certainly watch.

A sad story today with a Amatuer skateboarder dying in a motorcycle
accident and pro skater Ali Boulala critically injured. After
looking at the article I wasn't as surprised that there was an
accident happened. They drove into a pub wall at 1am wearing no
helmets or protective gear. I have to side with Bend
Press on this one...motorcycles are not something to mess
                around with.

I finally got a chance to visit Pier
Park this afternoon. Thumbs up. The medium and mini (very
mini) bowl are super fun. I'm not ready to skate the 11 1/2 foot
deep bowl...but guys were ripping it.

 - Sitting alone in an office all day has me returning
to all my comedy records. Of course the new classics like Patton
Oswalt and David Cross are in rotation I've been really into Steve
Martin. After a web search it seems he'll be putting out a
memoir based on his days of a stand up in the 70's. Can't
wait for that. I really enjoy his writing
but still can't fathom how he signed on for films like Cheaper
                By The Dozen and Bringin'
Down The House. I'm guessing he doesn't need the money.

 - Remember Hardline?
Boy, those were the days. Militant, vegan, straight edge AND pro-life.
And don't forget hating homosexuals. Not natural and all that.
What a bunch of shit that was. I actually know a few guys with
hardline tattoos...they grew out of it. Maybe I should get
this shirt and start bringing back the anger and hate. Actually,
I just think it's pretty funny. Machine gun X's? Prepare For Battle?
                Hilarious.
