It’s hard for me to view 2000 to 2010 as a decade…at least not the way I view the 80’s and 90’s as decades.
Still, it’s been quite the ten years. It’s been the most, well, the most of every thing. Let’s do the numbers…

7 years in San Francisco, 3 years in Portland. 3 homes bought and 2 sold. 8 cars bought and 5 sold. 4 motorcycles bought and 3 sold. 7 computers owned (all Apple) and 9 iPods (including 2 iPhones). 7 companies worked for and 2 self owned studios. 1 studio forced out of business, 1 shut down voluntarily. Longest job stay: 3 years, 9 months. Shortest, 3 days. 4 countries traveled. 0 animals consumed or worn.

One dog we’ve been looking after since March, 2001.

One marriage in August 2003.

One son in November 2007. That’s 26 months if you do the math. The shortest and longest 26 months of my life.
The first year I slept maybe 5 times through the night. Really.

I’ve had this URL for over ten years and this site officially since February 2001. SKATEDAILY.net has been going fairly strong for almost 6 years. And after giving it some thought I believe I’ve been placing some type of content up on the web EVERYDAY for at least the last 9 years…be it design or writing something, somewhere.

The past year has been one of the most challenging and rewarding. A large-scale move done in record time. A house in Portland sold and one in San Francisco bought during a recession. A major health battle that was won, but that is still being fought on many levels. And a career move to a job I plan to stay at for quite some time.

In the next ten years? I turn forty (and then some), my son will pass 12 years old…and who the hell knows.
