- Jason has been doing music blogs for a long time. He was putting some time in over at Clocked In - Punched Out, but recently started his third (?) solo site entitled Los-Res Viscera. So far he's offered up full album downloads from Rise Against, Gorgoroth, Umalaut, Quicksand (A live show!) and Weakling. Yes, the entire fucking Weakling album. He just posted the Give Them Rope 2.0 mix from Coalesce. Unreal. If you've ever enjoyed any music I've ever posted here, go there now and thank Jason profusely. Everyday I get giddy wondering what gem I'll get to download next...

- Ans speaking of online music, JW over at Pop Cesspool posted this after I commented on his likage to the mighty Valnøtt. Pretty funny. And although I'm sure that the dark hordes of corpse painted warriors would shudder, I do feel I can love both Moz and BM.

Of course I rushed out and bought the new Jeremy Enigk album. But as I was at the checkout I noticed that the last five tracks on the nine track disc are just live studio versions of songs from his last record, World Waits. Sort of a rip off Jeremy. I mean, I like those songs...but I already paid for them and four new songs does not an 'album' make. I'm guessing these are just out takes or something.

I'm also not blown away by the new songs...not like I have been in the past. Thery're good...but not great. Maybe the magic is gone? I hope not.

Here's Enigk playing three live songs on piano and a decent interview. And he doesn't bad mouth Sunny Day...nice.

- Body Worlds is creepy. Interesting and quite an achievement, but creepy.

- More Morrissey tour dates have been announced including four nights in San Francisco, TEN in Los Angeles and five in New York City. Woah. Which ones will I attend, if any? Who knows...

- SKATEDAILY.net redesign went up late last night. Nothing major, just a slightly new look, bigger images, some news images...and different ad banner layout. I think it works much better this way. Of, there's an RSS feed for those who are interested.

- While in SF I picked up some new music. The stand out is Phantom Limb by Pig Destroyer. I've been a fan of all of their records and this one doesn't disappoint. For better or worse this album is a bit easier to listen to (if you can stand heavy grindcore over all ) Most of it isn't blast beat after blast beat...and there are even some riffs. The lyrics are fantastic. So, so good. Recommended. I also grabbed the new 108 album. There is still too much Krishna gardbage on there, but it's worth it for the few great hardcore songs. Not every track is a keeper, but it's worth a listen.

- All Hail The Valnøtt. I haven't laughed out loud at a You Tube video in a long damn time. What a fantastic concept. Thanks to Joe for sending this to me.

Sitting at the PDX Airport, late flight to Oakland for a morning meeting. One day in the bay area, in and out.

Yesterday's Trifecta contest at Pier Park was insane. I can't help but be in owe of Sergie Ventura and his airs (6 feet high out of 11.5 deep bowl). So good. He pulled the first 540 in the park and was followed by a 12 year old who did the same...just not as high. Rune Glifberg over the door was pretty good too. Probably the most fun I've ever had watching a contest.

Today was the Portland Bridge Pedal (aka 'Critical Mass For Soccer Moms'). Up and riding at 8am. Roughly 40 miles and 4 hours later we saw all the bridges. Well, or Broadway...but that's pretty standard. Thanks to Steveie and Shawn for joining me. Watch Stevie's blog for silly photos soon.

On Friday Anthony Wilson passed away. If you are a fan of British Pop at all, especially any thing out of Manchester...this guy was either responsible or was an influence. Thanks for all the music Tony.

I'm tired.

Kayne West just handed Zach Galifianakis a bunch of money and told him to make a video for his new single, Can't Tell Me Nothing'. The result is borderline genius. I'm been watching this for weeks and forgot to post it. Amazing. The song has one of the best hip-hop lines in recent memory:

"I'm just saying how I feel man, I ain't one of the Cosbys I ain't gone to Hill-man."

Maybe if Galifianakis did every hip-hop video I might become a fan again...

Man, I just got back from seeing the film SiCKO. Michael Moore does it again. Yes, he's good at playing with your emotions...but it's hard to argue with how wrong this counbtry is on this one. And with a kid on the way, this film hit even harder.

Add knowing someone getting royally fucked by health care right now...and I can't help but want to leave the country and move to London or Paris.

We should really be ashamed that we don't have universal health care. It's pathetic. But them again so is the government of this country. Shameful.

Work, vacation and finally getting started on the addition to our house...so I've been busy.

- Huntington Lake is quite a beautiful place. Four days was barely enough time to take in the Indian Pools, the hot springs and boating on the lake. It's good to see family...

- The Simpsons Movie was all right. It's no Milhouse Divided (or anything from season 7,8, or 9) but I laughed more than a few times, so that's all I could really ask for. It was nice to see Homer give the finger...and Spider Pig never got old.

- Hey, Stevie's got a blog. Good stuff.
