Click my ID band above to experience my entire ER trip in Seattle and the 8 stitches...
*WARNING* - this is some really graphic stuff...be warned.

Last night I saw Pretty Girls Make Graves at Slims. Amazing band. They weren't as crazy on stage as I've heard, but I guess that's because no one really knew them, a less then energetic crowd. They were super good though...I agree with Tom who predicts them as the next big thing.

Photos from my trip to Seattle, minus the my trip to the ER...I'm working on that.

ll Tuesday. July 10. 2001. 10:00am

Back from Seattle...it was overall a great trip with one serious bummer. I'll have a photo gallery up as soon as I have the time.

Highlights

- visiting Tom, Mike, and Jason
- seeing Tom's new house
- Cradle of Filth and Nile live. Unreal. One of the best shows ever...more details later.
- visiting Bruce Lee's grave
- amazing vegan breakfasts every morning, good food all around
- listening to old hardcore records while playing Tony Hawk 2
- good skateparks but...

Lowlight

- spending most of Saturday in the ER after slicing my arm open at the Rain City Skatepark. Eight stitches and much pain...

During the ER trip Mike and Tom took a variety of photos documenting the ordeal...I'll post them as soon as I can. Some are not for the weak of heart. Send me an email if you want a preview. Let me also mention I began my health coverage on Tuesday...thank goodness.

I'm off to Seattle tomorrow morning until next Tuesday. I plan to hang out with my friends Tom and Mike, skate, and catch the Nile - Cradle of Filth show. Should be really fun. I feel a bit burnt and need a recharge. No updates from the road...sorry.

9:20am

I saw A.I. yesterday. It was far better than I expected. The movie was really three parts: introduction of David to the home, David in the world, and David in the far future. I enjoyed the first part the most as it really tackled the artifical life problems and challenges. Visually it was quite stunning, but as I had read, the ending was a bit long winded and comfortable. Meaning, it was wrapped up too nicely. It was a good film overall, that kid can act.

I also watched the Snatch DVD. The second disc was a bit of a let down, but I'm a huge fan of Guy Ritchie and the film itself. I know some people think it's too similar to Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, but I enjoyed Snatch more.

Kato scares the crap out of me daily.
Yesterday, during her usually park play, she went a little overboard. While playing with two much larger dogs, she decided to take off and have them chase her across the sand area of the dog run. At top running speed she got caught up in the legs of the other dogs and took the craziest tumble I've ever seen. She flipped end over end, and then rolled for about 10 yards easy. She just jumped up and wanted more. Jess and I ran over to find a dime size area of fur missing between her eyes, and a series of bloody cuts around her right eye. Walking her home felt like returning from battle. She actually whined when we left the park, as she was ready for more play. She played this morning, and we expect a speedy recovery. Crazy dog.

I had to come in here to do a few things and thought I'd warm up for July. Expect more photos and crap like that.

Watched Cast Away last night one DVD. Pretty good film. It makes you think, if nothing else. What would you do in the same situation? Could you make fire? Etc. The 2nd DVD was quite extensive, and the menus were well designed. I want DVD work! It would be so damn fun. Hopefully soon.

We had a yard sale Saturday morning and made $176.00. Not bad. Some guy actually tried to steal a $1.00 ring! Unreal. It was a street wide yard sale, so I went to the various sales and told them about the guy. He heard me talking to one sale owner, and ran. Five minutes later he came back to our sale and slipped the ring back onto Jess' jewelery table. My Mom warmed me that people steal at yard sales and I didn't believe her. The human race boggles my mind.
