Holy
crap, my
bike made it on to the Fixed
Gear Gallery website. I've arrived.
+ Wednesday, April 25th, 1:45pm +
- Take a few minutes and check out this massive
gallery of El Diablo Run photos from this past weekend. Looks
like a great time. I guess I have to figure out how to organize
a bike or car run for the Portland area. I haven't found one up
here yet. Maybe I need to look harder. Nothing like a nice long
road trip...
- I'm off to the east coast for the weekend. I'm excited to check
out the world's largest Porsche
swap meet in Hershey on Saturday. I've got my parts list ready...
- Next weekend it's Ashley's wedding party Saturday and Morrissey
on Sunday night (if I could hear only one
song...). It's going to be a good couple weeks...

- If you are a fan of Black Metal at all...or just wish to see
a pretty interesting set of "interviews" check out the VBS's
series entitled 'True Norwegian Black Metal". It's a
piece on Gaahl, frontman of the amazing band Gorgoroth.
They were produced with the help of black metal photographer Peter
Beste. Pretty intense stuff. All episodes can be viewed from links
on the top right side of the page. The blog, the main page,
has some good links as well. This
interview is pretty much hits the nail on the head.
- After being shut of the sneak preview on Thursday night (theater
was filled up fast) I saw finally saw Hot Fuzz last night. Certainly
one of my favorite movies of the year, but I didn't think it was
better than Shaun Of The Dead. It just didn't have as many laughs.
Still, the last third was fantastic and I'm really looking forward
to Run, Fat Boy,
Run...as the
teaser looked good. Although it's written by Michael
Ian Black and directored by David Schwimmer?
Spaced is still
the best Pegg / Wright / Frost piece of work to date. Hands down.

- Man, I'm really not
into just posting video after video as I feel most 'blogs' have
just turned into a a place to highlight You Tube finds...but...
Epicly
Later'd with Billy Rohan is my favorite of so far. It just
made me want to go outside and go skateboarding. It also really
gave me a feel of what it's like to skate in NYC. Reminded me
of being younger in DC.
And then there's Jason
Schwartzman's music video with The Gonz. I saw some of this
footage before, but this version is just nuts. Plus, I really
like the song as well. Unfortunately the full record doesn't sound
as solid. Eh, he's an actor...
- I'm boycotting TV news 100%.
- Damn...it's not amazing outside and I'm swamped with work.

Turn off the depressing
TV news and watch
this. Pretty damn funny. And yes, Blades Of Glory was great.
Really.
Bonus: funniest
Will Ferrell sketch ever?
+ Monday, April 16th, 1:42pm +
Unbelievable.
A close friend of mine attended Virginia Tech and it's the only
large college campus I spent more than a few hours at. I remember being slightly jealous that he was living in this campus
town while I just went from building to building in downtown DC.
We skated from dorm to dorm trying to find stairs and curbs.

I
really didn't think Don Imus had so much power in the media. I
would have thought he just make people shake their head and then
go back to ignoring his worthless show...must be a slow news week
to make him seem like someone who makes an ounce of difference.
I agree with Jason Whitlock on this one. Saw him on the
TODAY show this morning and thought his column is pretty
dead on.

Lately
I've been stressed out and worried about all sorts of things...work/career,
house issues, health, money and on and on.
And then I remember Josh's
situation.
I've written about him in the past...he's one of the Shac
7 and is currently serving three years in a federal prision.
Regardless how you feel about animal rights and similar issues
I challenge anyone not to relate to Josh. If you are passionate
about anything: Pro-Choice, Human Rights, Anti-War...it could
be you sitting in a cell. Thank Bush and the Patriot Act.
For weeks now Josh
has been in 'the hole' aka solitary for doing a written interview
with a small skate / dumpstering / vegan ‘zine. I write
the guy when I can and it's a pleasure hearing back from him.
He's a dog lover, hardcore music fan and long time skateboarder.
When I'm feeling overwhelmed I try to re-focus and think of Josh.
No matter what bullshit is going on I can still hug my wife, pet
my dog and push regular footed down the street. Sometimes I need
to be reminded of that.
I'm looking forward to skating some curbs with Josh really soon.

There
is something really cool about these stripper
Polaroids. Just the look and feel of the images. And the fact
they are barely PG rated.
- Another office move this week...same
building, new floor , better light and size.
- Todd Batrud's
blog is pretty solid...and if you don't know his work go
here and here.
+ Tuesday, April 3rd, 8:43pm +
It's a sickness.
I was on the computer right when the Morrissey tickets went on
sale last week and in less than a second half the damn floor had
sold out. Ticketmaster is the worst. So what do I do? I go to
a damn ticket service and pay even more than the all ready insane
$80+ bucks a ticket. You only live once...and it's second row
center...
