Yeah, O'Rielly is a dick...but unfair journalism gives him even more ammo to fire at the 'left'. Not smart. Worth a listen. l 9:22am l In the past I've been a pretty strong supporter of Michael Moore. I'm on the fence lately. With all the Oscar buzz a while back, I looked into the claims that he doctored his footage to better prove his point. There seems to be no doubt he did this (the NRA rally in Columbine, the Lockhead Martin sequence, the Gun/Bank deal)...which is just a shame. It seems that in order to really attack those on the right, you must be armed with the truth. I also got an email yesterday from my pal Chad pointing out Mr.Moore's anti-Animal Rights rant in 'Dude, Where's MyCountry'...which I got to reading last night. Bummer. In the same chapter he also bags on liberal radio, and says Mumia Abu-Jamal is guilty. So I guess I don't know what to think...you can't agree 100% which everyone, and lord knows almost NO ONE agrees with everything I believe. I'm just fed up with seeing the left and right media just go after each other. What's the point? It's tuned into a yelling match, with no action. Yesterday morning I got a email from my Mother. One of the men killed on Saturday in an Iraq ambush was the Son of her former boss. He was born in the same town I was, and I had heard so much about him...and how smart and successful he was. So tragic. I hope that something comes from this continuing battle in Iraq. I don't see the point in all this death. Here are a few things I've been watching online... Ichi The Killer - trailer. Did you find Kill Bill way too tame? Do you enjoy violence on a level that frightens others? This is the Yakuza / Hitman / Slaughter / Horror film for you. After reading much about this Japanese gangster film by Takasi Mike, I finally found a trailer. I've debating on whether or not I have the stomach to watch the whole film, which hits the US on DVD next month. Caution : THIS TRAILER IS INSANELY GRAPHIC. Enjoy. The Incredibles (new PIXAR film) - preview/teaser thing. This looks damn good. Now you just have to wait until November of next year Idiot Son of An Asshole - Flash animation of the new song by NOFX. Although I haven't heard NOFX in years, this made me laugh. I'm sure this will piss some people off...but I enjoyed it. l Tuesday - October 14 - 2:31pm l Now THIS is bad ass. A Bruce Lee mixing board complete with sound and images. So damn fun. One of the best Flash pieces I've seen in a while. I'll be visiting their showroom in San Francisco this weekend to pick up some Bruce Lee eyewear, and the official Game of Death Jumpsuit. Featured + I Know Where Bruce Lee Lives l Monday - October 13 - 8:26am l Friday night's Comedy Central LIVE show with Dave Attell and Lewis Black was pretty disappointing. I really like Dave Attell, but about 65% of his material was from his latest album. It's not very entertaining to hear the same joke you've heard over and over again. If you don't have the record, I'm sure it will all be funny. Lewis Black didn't really do it for me either. Sure, he's really funny on the Daily Show, but watching him get angry over bottled water for over five minutes just didn't work. He needs to stick to current events. I actually enjoyed the openers more than the headliners... Go see Kill Bill instead...that's worth the money. One tip though: don't bring a seven year old kid like the dumb ass behind us. I can't imagine what was going through that kid's head. We heard him keep asking quietly, "is he dead?" Yes son, they are all dead. Great parenting. It seems obvious now that in order to get Bush out of office, democrats are going to have to get a celebrity to run for President. No experience? Who cares! Questionable background? Fuck it! The American people would much rather have someone famous in office. It's just WAY cooler! I'm thinking they could go a bit younger...Vin Diesel maybe? That new Rock film is doing pretty well. Hmmm...might not work with older voters. Clint Eastwood could be a lock, or Robert Redford. Paul Newman? I mean he does have all that free advertsing on salad dressing. But those guys are a tad boring, not as 'action' as Arnold. I don't have the answers, but the fact is Howard Dean simply doesn't have the face or cinematic background to really make it in today's political landscape. Things may change a bit as I get the design dialed in. The Fire Theft were amazing Monday night. After playing all their songs, Jeremy Enigk came out and performed a tune from Return of the Frog Queen. I was floored.
