Hope you're having a good holiday / New Year. Here are my favorites from last year in alpabetical order. I listen to a wide variety of music, so I really couldn't put these in any order. Each has an Mp3 to download and check out. Enjoy. Neckdeep will be back some time in the first week of January.

Agoraphobic Nosebleed
Frozen Corpse Stuffed With Dope

This album continues to blow me away. Not only is it what might be the best grindcore record ever, but also an amazing piece of studio work. This will tear you in half. A horror movie in pure audio form.

Dead Battery - 1.1mg
Grandmother with AIDS - 940K

Botch
An Anthology Of Dead Ends

Botch's swan song could be their best piece of work to date. Powerful hardcore with some of the tightest guitar work of the year. Technical and sonic, sweet and smashing.

Japam - 3.4mg

Cave In
Tides of Tomorrow

With each new record, Cave In changes and reinvents their sound. I didn't want to love this record...but I couldn't help it. A great album for long dirves...something I came to learn a lot about this year.

Come Into Your Own - 5.6mg

Converge
Unloved and Weeded Out

This one just snuck in, arriving in my mail box on Dec. 23. What can I say about Converge I already haven't? Nothing. these songs are lost recordings around the 'Petioning' period.

Jacob's Ladder
- 4.6mg

David Cross
Shut Up, You Fucking Baby!

Hands down the funniest thing I've heard (or seen) this year. His delivery is dead on and I agree with every fucking thing he has to say. Just download this and laugh like hell...then buy the album.

My Wife's Crazy!
- 4.5mg

The Dillinger Escape Plan With Mike Patton
Irony Is A Dead Scene EP

Although I wasn't taken with this record at first...it hascertainly grown on me. After seeing the band perform these songs live I was hooked. You just can't front on Dillinger. When's the new full length coming out? hurry the hell up.

When Good Dogs Do Bad Things - 6.9mg

Idlewild
The Remote Part

I learned of this band by way of Brad from Jeans and a T-Shirt.com. Great brit rock that just rubs me the right way. Catchy and solid. As of this writing, this album is available only as an import.

A Modern Way Of Letting Go - 2.8mg

Oasis
Heathen Chemistry

Yeah...I like Oasis. Sue me. They play great rock music and always drop really great records. The songwrting on this is top notch. It can't alaways be metal core and finger pointing you know. A solid album.

Stop CryingYour Heart Out
- 5.8mg

Queens of the Stone Age
Songs for the Deaf

Here's the one that's on everyones top ten list. Just straight up pedal to the metal r-o-c-k. David Grohl is one hell of a drummer. You can feel that kick drum go through you.

Go With The Flow - 3.6mg

Terror
Lowest of the Low

Hardcore. Pure...no filler. This is the real deal here. Scream along, point the finger, dive in the pit. I need to know that bands like Terror are out there giving kids the fuel I had in 1990. Damn.

Lowest of the Low - 2.2mg
